Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m back in my comfortable place with today’s card and some stamping and ink blending, after yesterday’s adventure into vintage. I love this ‘butterfly tree’ from Claritystamp, and have used one of my new words stickers from them as well. The layout for today uses this week’s design at Freshly Made Sketches and the colours are from Just Us Girls

I started by masking off a vertical panel on a piece of smooth white card with low tack tape, which I’d trimmed down to fit on a 5×7 card blank. I then blended Distress Oxides across it, without going right to the bottom of the card. I didn’t have the exact colours in the challenge so used ‘mustard seed’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘picked raspberry’. Once dry, I removed the tape and then stamped the ‘butterfly tree’ in black Archival, offset to the left to reflect the FMS sketch layout.

I used a torn piece of copy paper and a sponge to add ink at the base of the tree to ground it. The topper then went onto the card blank and I finished by adding the sentiment using a ‘Words’ sticker from Claritystamp.

A nice simple card, with a real pop of colour to brighten your day.
Beautiful 👍
