Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve been playing with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘art gallery’ set again – I do really like these flowers, especially this little spray. I think this set will definitely be a keeper! I’ve taken inspiration for today’s card from three of this week’s challenges: the layout reflects the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, the colours are from Global Design Project, and the theme picks up the centre row of the TicTacToe challenge (embossing, florals, encouraging sentiment).

Before I go any further, I must say a huge thank you to the team at Freshly Made Sketches, especially Karren, who picked my card from last week (surround yourself with colour) as the Queen of Clean! I was honoured and thrilled!

On to today’s card. I started with a 6×6 card blank and scattered some ‘serene’ WOW embossing powder (from the Riviera trio) on the front, which I then heated. This is a really useful technique which I picked up from Marion Emberson – it works best with chunky or ultra high powders.

I next die cut a circle of white card and stamped the sentiment onto it, from Stampendous’ ‘Bible verses’ set. This is one of my favourite Bible verses, I have to say. I attached the circle to the front of the card blank.

I then stamped the floral spray twice using Artistry inks – once in ‘tenacious teal’ and secondly in ‘fancy fuschia’. I die cut them both, and trimmed the pink flower heads down further, so I could glue them on top of the team ones. I think this is the easiest way to get the flowers and leaves in two colours (thanks to Joanne James for the guidance on that). I also stamped and die cut the small bee from the ‘honey bee’ set, and coloured his body with a yellow marker. All I then needed to do was attached the spray and bee onto the card front using foam pads.

I’m a bit late blogging this evening, as it’s been a pretty full day. I had my second Covid vaccination this morning, which is definitely a cause for celebration. I’m looking forward to catching up with a couple of friends for lunch next week as well – praying for fine weather as we’re still not allowed to meet indoors in England until 17 May.
Love this Deborah – I agree, I think this set is a keeper too! I love the uplifting sentiment and the addition of the bee to your florals. Perfect for all 3 challenges – thanks for sharing over at TicTacToe this week and congrats too on last week’s FMS win which was well deserved!
