Hello friends. I’ve got another of the cards I demo’d on last Friday’s Clarity Social TV to share with you today. This one uses one of the Elegant Ladies – Beauty stamps, and I paired her up with a piece of the Floral Elements BOW-WOB paper and kept the whole scheme black and white.

My starting point was to cut a piece of premium card with a nested oval die to create my topper, then stamp the Elegant Lady onto it with black Archival ink.

I wated to get a deep black colour onto her dress and shoes, but felt tip pens can ‘bleed’ onto card so I first shaded the parts I wanted to colour with a ‘Payne’s grey’ Polychromo pencil. The effectively ‘seals’ the card and I could then go over the pencil shading with a black Perga Colour pen to intensify the colour. She looked a bit anaemic at this point, so I shaded in her arms, legs and head with the ‘beige red’ Polychromo pencil! I also added a little grey shading to her underskirts to give a sense of depth. I stamped the hat onto a scrap of card, coloured the brim in the same way, then fussy cut it and glued it onto her head.

I cut a panel of the Floral Elements paper, glued it onto the front of a black 5×5 card blank and added the topper onto it. I finished with one of the Birthday & Christmas stickers, which I edged with a black Sharpie before attaching it to the card front.

So, what do you think of this little lady? She looks fully set for a day out in style! I’m going to share her with Seize the Birthday for their option of a square card and non-white base.

I absolutely love this and elegance is certainly the word I would use to describe it. Wow.
