Hello crafty friends and welcome to this week’s Seasonal Saturday offering! It’s the last of this month’s challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and I’ve opted for ‘stencilling’ as our technique, which gave me the perfect excuse to put the Snowflakes Aperture Round stencil into action – it’s such a pretty design. The Christmas Elements Snowman stamps were still out too, so they got to feature again!

I first cut a piece of premium card slightly smaller than my 6×6 card blank, and attached the stencil to it to give me an arched image. I cut a piece of blank mask material with a nested circle die and used it to cover the centre of the snowflake aperture.

Next was to blend a few tones of blue through the stencil, starting with ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide at the bottom, then working up to add ‘mermaid lagoon’ and finally a little ‘chipped sapphire’ across the top. Before I removed the stencil, I removed the circle mask, flipped the card over and embossed around the inside of the aperture to create a frame.

I stamped the larger of the snowmen into the aperture with ‘cobalt’ Archival ink and gave hime a little shading with a light blue Polychromo pencil.

I finished with one of the Art Deco Sentiments and attached the topper straight onto the 6×6 card blank.
