G for games at Alphabet Challenge

Hello everyone! I’ve tried to get a bit topical with today’s card using Clarity’s Summer Shades and Wee Sports People stamps for the new theme of G for Games at Alphabet Challenge! It’s been a hot summer already (we’re officially in drought in the south of England!) filled with sports too – the World Cup, Wimbledon, several international cricket tournaments and the British Open golf championship which ended last week. I’ve pulled it all together on my card, which I’ve also been demonstrating on this morning’s Clarity Social TV slot.

I took a piece of Clarity’s premium card, cut to 6×4 inches, stamped the Summer Shades glasses onto it with black Versafine Clair ink, and then heat embossed them with clear powder.

I could then easily create a landscape through the glasses, brushing ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the Clouds mask and ‘peeled paint’ across the ground one that comes with the Summer Shades.

I was originally going to stamp the cricketer through the glasses frame, but opted for the golfer instead, then added several of the little grasses image, again in the ‘peeled paint’. I thought it looked like he’s sent the ball off down the fairway, avoiding the rough on each side!

All it then needed was a mount of pale blue Antarctica companion paper and a 5×7 card blank. I didn’t add a sentiment, but this would make a great birthday card for a golf fan.

Actually, I think that any of the Wee Sports People would work with this design – except maybe the skier!! What sports or games would you include?

I’m going to share this card with a couple of other challenges. The Male Room are looking for ‘hobbies’ and Cardz 4 Guyz have got a ‘summer’ theme. And I’ll be back on Clarity’s YouTube channel at 2pm with some Elegant Ladies for a complete contrast to this card!
