Hello crafty friends. I’m dropping in with a quick card today that utilises the pretty ‘floral trellis’ stencil from last month’s Clarity Craft Club. I’ve said it before, but now is a great time to join one (or more) of the clubs, as their Half Price Members’ Sale is running until midnight on Monday (plus all the other benefits of the annual club membership, including discounts on all your orders). I’ve kept it very simple today, just using part of the stencil along with the Bijou Sentiments stamp set.

I started by cutting a piece of premium card to fit on an A6 card blank with just a narrow border, lined the stencil along the long edge and held it into place with a hinge of low tack tape. I covered over the rest of the stencil with another strip of tape and some scrap paper, as I just wanted one line of the stencil pattern.

I could then start adding colour to the different sections of the stencil, starting by sponging ‘kitsch flamingo’ Distress Oxide into the little flowers. I cut some small squares of blank mask material and covered the flowers over, which meant I could blend ‘mowed lawn’ into the trellis edges using one of the new ink blending brushes – these are great for getting into small stencil designs.

Before I removed the stencil, I used the fine top of a dark green Perga Colour pen to fill in the diamonds at each corner of the trellis. Once I’d then lifted everything off my topper, I stamped several of the Bijou Sentiments into place with ‘library green’ Archival ink, and then simply attached it to the card blank.

And that’s all there was to it!
