Hello crafty friends. I’m back with our new challenge at Sparkles today, where we want to see cards for kids. I reached again for the Wee Pattern stencils (they are so useful!), adding in one of the Friends & Family Silhouettes stamps (this is the Dream & Wonder set). This little lad blowing bubbles made me think of my grandson, who loves playing with a bubble wand in the garden!

Anyway, back to my cardmaking process… This time I put the stencil-mate that’s part of the set into action, attaching my chosen pattern into the aperture and securing it with low tack tape. The stencil-mate acts as the perfect mask around the edges of the wee stencil.

I’d cut a topper to fit on an A6 card blank, so lined the stencil up on it with the tape underneath. I could then use the ink blending brushes to blend ‘dried marigold’ and ‘shaded lilac’ Distress Oxide through it.

I switched to the blank wee stencil and used it as an embedder to emboss a frame around the stencilled area. I then stamped my little bubble-blowing lad into place with ‘villainous potion’ Distress Oxide, giving him sone ground to stand on by sponging the ink across a torn piece of copy paper.

I simply added one of the Bijou Statement Sentiments and attached the topper to the A6 card blank.

Don’t you think that little stencil pattern looks like bubbles floating away into the sky? What designs have you got for kids cards? Do come and share them with us at Sparkles Challenge.
I’m also going to share this with a couple of other challenges. I took the colours from Color Dare, utilising the purple, lilac and peach. Addicted to CAS have got ‘up’ as their theme, which is exactly where those bubbles are heading!
