Hello crafty friends. I’m dropping in with a design that I was demoing at last month’s Clarity Open Days down in Kent, inspired by a card made by my DT buddy Jane Telford. This simple layout combines the Dotted Blooms stamps with one of the Statement Sentiments and some lovely summery colours.

So, here’s a quick run through my process. I cut a piece of premium card to 12cm square (4.75″), then drew pencil guidelines to mark the centre so I could position the largest of the Moon masks. I then stamped the largest of the top row of the Dotted Blooms at 3, 6, 9 & 12 o’clock around the circle using ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxide.

Next was to stamp the bloom again between the first ones, this time with ‘picked raspberry’ and add the leaves in ‘peeled paint’. I could then lift the mask to add one of the Statement Sentiments, with an additional one below it from the Dotted Blooms set, both in the ‘peacock feathers’.

I didn’t add any shading to the flowers, as the open effect works well on this design. I simply popped the topper on a layer of Antarctica companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

This is so straightforward to make, but has lots of impact from that circle of blooms. And I reckon it would work well in lots of different colour combinations too.
I’m off to share this one with a couple of current challenges too, having picked up the ‘blooms’ element from Triple B and ‘anything goes’ for Seize the Birthday.
