Hello everyone. Well, thanks fully it’s been a few degrees cooler today and temperatures are forecast to be back in the normal seasonal range for the next week, which is a great relief (and we’ll still have good weather!) Anyway, it being Saturday, I’m back with this week’s Christmas card, using one of the Seasonal Tags & Frames stamp sets that I had one yesterday morning’s Clarity TV show – obviously this card uses the Winter set which I teamed up with one of the Wee Village stamps for a design inspired by an earlier card made by my Clarity buddy Tina Morris.

I started with the little church from the Village set, stamping it onto a 3.5″ square of premium card with black Archival ink. I masked it off (helpfully a set of pre-cut masks comes with the set) and then stamped the wreath over it.

Next was to shade the images with my Polychromo pencils – it always amazes me how just adding a little colour really brings stamped images to life! I also added a little ground either side of the church with one of the stamps from the new Friends & Family Silhouette – Life in Miniature set and ‘library green’ Archival ink.

Having then added a sentiment from the Tags & Frames set, I used a square embedder and a ball tool to emboss an indented frame around my little scene – the smallest square embedder is a perfect fit for the 3,5″ card. I pulled out the Lattice Doodle Frame-it Panel Dies to cut my mount from dark green companion paper and then attached the whole piece to a 5×5 card blank.

So, that’s another Christmas card in the bag (actually it’s a box!) It’s a new month next week, and I suspect that a few more challenges will be going with ‘Christmas in July’ themes (that is A Thing in the crafting world for the uninitiated!). For now I’m sharing it with CAS Christmas, who are looking for ‘bird’ (check out that little robin on my wreath!), with CAS on Friday who’ve kicked off ‘Christmas in July’ and with Peace on Earth where it’s ‘anything goes’. I’ll be back tomorrow with a more summery card!
