Hello crafty friends. I hope you’ve had a good weekend and are feeling ready for the coming week! I’m looking back at last week still, with another of my demos from Clarity’s Social TV last Friday using the Summer Tags and Frames stamps which I paired up with the Trellis Stencil.

The trick to this design was getting the sentiment stamped into the centre of my 5×5 piece of premium card. This is where Clarity’s Mega Mounts come into their own – I used the etched lines to centre the sentiment perfectly on the mount and could then line the mount up with the card edges and hit the bullseye! Having done that, I stamped the rectangle roses frame around it, getting the left hand and lower edges as close to the sentiment as I could.

I then rotated the card 180 degrees and stamped the roses frame a second time, to box in the sentiment. Next was to lay the Trellis stencil over the bottom left corner of the card, anchor it with low tack tape and brush ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxide in from the corner towards the roses. I added a little ‘festive berries’ right in the corner to deepen the tone, then swung the card round again and repeated the process on the opposite corner.

I switched to my Polychromo pencils to shade in the roses, using three tones of pink so I got depth of colour with ‘pine green’ for the leaves and the frame.

I found the perfect dark green mount in the Northern Lights companion paper and finished by attaching it to a 6×6 card blank.

This is actually a remake of one of my samples from when these stamps were first released, but I did that one in yellow – you can check it out here, and I went for a purple variation on Friday’s live demo. I guess the message is that this design works in any colour!
So now I’m off to share this with a few of the current blog challenges. My stencil pattern works for Just Us Girls and Stencil Fun, while the roses fit Beautiful Blossoms. Finally my layout is an adaptation of the sketch at Atlantic Hearts.

I absolutely love how you framed the sentiment, so fabulous. I love the stenciling, the ombre affect is perfect, not to much, it is just the right amout to let the stamped image and sentiment stand out! Thanks for playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).
