Hello crafty friends. Well here we are in another heatwave in the south east of England, so obviously I’ve got another Christmas card to share with you! In my defence, it is for the week’s 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, where Fabiola has chosen ‘snowmen’ as the theme. I’ve picked out the little chap from the same Christmas Elements stamp set I used for last week’s card, pairing him with a rather unexpected igloo made with one of the Dotted Blooms stamps I’m busy demonstrating with this week at Clarity’s Open Days!

So, a simple start on a square of premium card that I trimmed to fit on a 5×5 card blank – I just stamped the snowman and ‘igloo’ with ‘salvaged patina’ Archival ink.

I masked off the snowman & ‘igloo’ (there are precut masks with the Dotted Blooms stamps, but I made one for the snowman from Clarity’s blank material) then brushed ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide into the background around them.

All I then needed to do was add a few snowflakes from the set into the sky and stamp the sentiment, all in the ‘salvaged patina’, and attach the topper to my 5×5 card blank – no mount, just leaving the images to do their work.

So I’m finally back in the hotel after a full day demonstrating and have updated the all the links (I couldn’t manage to do it on this morning’s version which I did from my phone!) It has been a fantastic couple of days with so many friends from the Clarity community – people travel from far and wide to be there (I think the furthest was from Texas!) Tomorrow will be a bit calmer, as I’m at Barbara’s inky/stamping workshop before heading home in the evening, so I can take it a bit easier.
First, though, I want to share this one with a few other challenges. Colorful Options have got ‘Tiffany blue’ as their tone for this month, which works beautifully for a monotone Christmas card I think. ABC Christmas want to ‘let it snow’ and Holly & Ivy are ‘anything goes’ as usual.
