Hello everyone. I finally made it home earlier this evening after a brilliant time at Clarity’s Open Days and then Barbara’s inky/stamping workshop today. I’m feeling rather weary, but just wanted to pop in to share one of my demo cards using the SHAC Dancing Girls on one of the Elements Skies small tags.

I kept this very simple, finding a suitable sky from the tags and stamping two of the smaller Dancing Girls onto it, lining their feet up on the bottom edge. I then shaded them in with a couple of Polychromo pencils (‘coral’ and ‘sanguine’), which picked out the peachy tones in the sky, then added a little shading below to ground them.

Having added a mount of Antarctica companion paper and an appropriate word sticker, I wanted to add them to a 5×5 card blank sitting inside an embedded frame, but didn’t have one the right size for my topper. I solved that by extending a square embedder that was the right width but too short. So, the first step was to sit the embedder on the card front, using the topper to line it up in the right place, then hold it down with low tack tape. I flipped to the inside of the card front and embossed around the edges of the embedder, but only doing the top and part-way done each side. Moving back to the front of the card, I slid the embedder down to give me the right length of frame, anchored it in place again and then repeated the process on the inside of the card to complete both sides and the bottom edge. It’s a great way to adapt your embedders to fit any size of topper.

And here’s the finished product!

These stamps were a real talking point with folk who stopped at my demo table this weekend – and proved a popular purchase!
I’ll have more of my demo cards to share over the coming days, but first this one is off to make an appearance in the galleries at Addicted to CAS and Simply Clean & Simple.
