Hello friends. Well, it’s the 1st June so only right that I share my next calendar page with you, created with the new Dotted Butterflies, the Big Blooms stamps and the Abstract Squares stencil, which makes a great background.

I started by using my random number generator app to pick a card from Volume 2 of my Colour Cube and wound up with these gorgeous tones! I matched my inks to the colours as closely as I could, picking out Distress Oxides in ‘saltwater taffy’, ‘dusty concord’, ‘villainous potion’ and ‘chipped sapphire’. I lined the stencil up on one of the calendar toppers, attaching it with low tack tape, then used my stencil brushes to blend the inks through it.

I then started stamping my images into place with black Archival ink, putting the trio of flowers down first, then adding the leaves and finally the three butterflies.

I added colour to the butterflies with Polychromo pencils, which covered up the white areas from the stencil that were showing through them. I added two of the Art Deco sentiments and a mount of Rainbow River companion paper, before finally attaching it to June’s calendar page.

I am so enjoying creating these pages each month – it makes it really personal and reflects what I’m thinking about at the time. Last week’s serious heatwave has now passed and our temperatures are back in the normal range – I’m hoping for more seasonal weather this month, although there is rain on the way!
Just Us Girls have got ‘stencils’ as their theme this week, so I’m going to share this in their gallery.
