I’m celebrating…

Hello everyone! Exciting news to share with you today – I’ve joined the ClarityCrafts Design Team! I was thrilled (and a bit stunned) to be invited to be part of the team by Barbara Gray – she’s been a key inspiration on my crafting journey and was the person who first taught me how to stamp properly (on a Clarity retreat way back in 2012 in a village hall in Little Baddow, Essex!) Up til then I’d only used ready made toppers, patterned paper and bits of ribbon!

So I thought a celebration card was in order, using the latest stencil and stamp from Clarity’s monthly Craft Club and CASEing the current challenge card over at Global Design Project for the layout.

I started with a piece of Clarity’s ‘Antarctica’ paper and brushed ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide through the ‘abstract droplets’ stencil from May’s craft club. I die cut a circle into a piece of card that I’d cut down to fit a 5×7 card blank, attached the stencilled paper behind it and popped the whole piece on the card front.

I then stamped the heart from May’s ‘grunge shapes’ stamps three times onto a scrap of the ‘Antarctica’ paper and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine bright white power. I left them a minute to set, then fussy cut all three and glued them onto the card front.

I obviously had to go with the sentiment form the ‘celebrate your day’ stamp set, which I stamped in ‘cornflower’ Archival and edged with a Sharpie before adding to the card front. A few enamel dots finished the whole thing off.

Well, I’ve come a long way on my crafting journey since I first attended a workshop with my friend Jean in our church hall and thought ‘I could probably do that’! Who knows what the next 15 years will hold…
