Enjoy today

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card uses a ClarityCrafts stamp set that’s been in my stash for a few months and only now seen the light of day! (is it just me…?!) I thought the trio of vases from ‘Enjoy Today Flowers’ would work well with the current double sketch & colours challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. I’m also going to share it over with Happy Little Stampers for their watercolour challenge.

The first step was to sort my background. I cut a square of white card slightly smaller than a 5×5 card blank, layered it onto a piece from the ‘Waimea Falls’ companion papers and then attached it at an angle to the card front. I then used scissors to trim off the corners that were over the card edge – it’s easiest to do this with the inside of the card facing you, so you can follow the edge with your scissors.

I then stamped the vases onto the card using ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink and coloured the image with a waterbrush and Distress Oxides in ‘peacock feathers’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘mustard seed’. I left the watercolouring on the vases a bit scruffy to try and give them a little texture.

I sat Clarity’s ‘waterline’ mask across the bottom of the vases and sponged a little of the ‘shadow grey’ across it to give them a surface to sit on, finishing by stamping the sentiment from the set.

Nothing too taxing with this one! Thanks for all your good wishes on my joining Clarity’s Design Team – exciting times ahead!
