Hello again and welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card uses one of my favourite techniques – masking & blending inks, together with ClarityCrafts’ ‘trees and their mantles’ stamps. I picked up the colours from Just Add Ink and the ‘silhouette’ theme from Just Us Girls
I started with a square of white card that I’d cut down to fit on a 5×5 card blank. The first step was to use the outer part of a circle mask to create the sun with ‘mustard seed’ Distress Oxide and a blending brush. I then covered it over with the inner part of the mask before creating the landscape with Clarity’s ‘hills’ mask & ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide, followed by the sky in ‘broken china’ with their ‘clouds’ mask.
I used the ‘hills’ mask to cover up part of the landscape and then stamped one of the trees from the set in black Versafine Clair ink – masking the ground off meant I could sit the tree in a dip on the landscape.
I used the mask again to stamp the very tip of the tree along the hillsides to create the effect of bushes and foliage on the ground. After adding one of the ‘poetry verses’ stamps, I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to the 5×5 card blank.
I think this really is my favourite style of card making! I actually adapted this design from one I did a couple of years ago – you can see that one here
Beautiful! Love the scene!

I love this peaceful scene you’ve created Deborah! Your masking worked beautifully to nestle the tree into the dip and then create the bushes and foliage. Wonderful card! Thanks for sharing it with us at Just Us Girls!
