spring pansy

Welcome to my crafty blog and a pretty spring pansy on today’s card. I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s ‘pansy patch’ set (which has carried over into the new catalogue), inspired by the challenges at Inspired by, Festive Friday (I picked up yellow, black & enamel dots from their list) and Less is More

I started with an A6 card blank and used a rectangular embedder from ClarityCrafts to emboss a frame on the card front. I then stamped the strip from SU’s ‘oceanfront’ set using ‘mustard seed’ Distress Oxide.

Next was to stamp the smallest pansy from the set, using ‘squeezed lemonade’ & ‘mustard seed’ with a black centre. The leaves were stamped with ‘rustic wilderness’ (I used second generation for the first one and first generation for the detail), then all three peices were die cut. I stamped the sentiment onto a small piece of white card, glued that to the card front and added the leaves and pansy.

All it needed to finish were a few of my favourite enamel dots.

I do like pansies – I need to take a trip to the garden centre and refresh the pots on my decking, as my son seems to have forgotten where the watering can is kept while I was away on my holiday!
