pink birthday

Hello there! I’m really getting back into my crafting routine now – today’s card features the ‘periwinkle & friends’ aperture die from ClarityCrafts, inspired by the challenges at AAA Cards, Atlantic Hearts and Happy Little Stampers

You’ll know that I’m a stamper at heart, but there’s none to be seen on this card! I started by cutting the largest of Clarity’s nested square scallop frame-it aperture dies into the front of a 6×6 card blank, and then attached a piece of their ‘Indian Summer’ designer paper to the inside of the card.

I cut the periwinkle die into a piece of the ‘Indian Summer’ designer card, using a nested circle die to cut it out. I then cut across the edge of the circle to give me a straight edge on the die cut – now this would have been OK if I’d had a guillotine, but I used a paper trimmer and part of the die cut tore! If I’d put my sensible head on first, I would have laid the die over the edge of the card and not needed to cut it at all! Anyway, I glued it into place on the card front and was able to match the torn leaf stem together (phew!)

I added one of Clarity’s KISS word stickers to mirror AHSC’s sketch, sitting it lower across the die cut so it covered the torn stem. A few pink enamel dots finished it perfectly.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back with another card tomorrow.

  1. I love the circle element, such a creative way to do this sketch, it is so very pretty! Thanks for playing along with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).
