leafy swirl for you

Hello there and welcome to my crafty blog. No daffodils today, instead it’s the ‘leafy swirl’ stencil and stamp from ClarityCrafts. I based the layout on the sketch at Atlantic Hearts, with the colour palette from Hand Stamped Sentiments

I started by cutting an oval out of a piece of Clarity’s mask material, laid it onto white card and added the ‘leafy swirl’ stencil over the top. I then used one of Clarity’s stencil brushes to brush ‘tumbled glass’ Distress ink through the aperture.

After peeling the mask off the card I stamped the small ‘leafy swirl’ in ‘peeled paint’ Distress Oxide across the side of the oval.

I added the little butterfly from the KISS ‘enjoy today’ set and coloured them using a SU Write marker in ‘flirty flamingo’ and a blender pen. I then outlined the oval with a deckled edge using a Micron pen and ran a black Sharpie around the card edges.

I mounted the topper onto a layer of pale blue card and attached it to a 5×7 card blank, finishing with the sentiment from the KISS ‘just for you flowers’ set.

Thanks for dropping in. I’ve had a lovely (but tiring) afternoon with my craft group making daffodil cards (obviously!) including the one I shared yesterday – they loved it!
