Hello crafty friends. I’m back today with one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! sets – ‘daffodil daydream’. It’s perfect for spring cards and so perfect for the new theme at Global Design Project. I based this card on the sketch at The Paper Players and picked up the CAS challenge of ‘colouring’ from Just Us Girls

The first step was to stamp the spray of daffodils onto a square of white card using ‘watering can’ Archival ink. I cut a mask for the image from an all-over sticky note, popped the outer part of a large circle mask from Clarity over it and blended ‘broken china’ ink around it. I used Pergaliner blending pencils to shade the leaves and flowers – I was going to leave the flowers all white but in the end blended lime green and yellow pencils to give them some depth.

I added birds using the little stamp from ‘waves of inspiration’ with the sentiment from ‘peaceful moments’. After running a black Sharpie around the edges of the card square, I attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that I do love daffodils – they remind me of my mum. No sign of the ones in my garden yet but hopefully they’ll be making an appearance before too long.
Beautiful!
