doodle circles

Welcome to my crafty blog and a very CAS card using the ‘buttercup doodles’ stamp set from Clarity Crafts’ KISS range. I stripped the design right back on this one (no ink blending or enamel dots in sight!) using the sketch from Global Design Project. I lifted the ‘circles’ theme from AAA cards and the colours from the floral graphic pic on Just Us Girls‘ moodboard (one row up and one column in from the right)

The first step was to stamp the three sentiment circles onto white card. I first stamped the ‘happy birthday to you’, covered it with a circle mask and then stamped ‘from me to you’ to the right, lining it up so I kept two complete phrases. I covered that with a circle mask as well and stamped ‘love you lots sweet pea’, again making sure that a complete phrase was visible.

I removed the masks and stamped the triple and single flowers into the circles. I used the outer part of a mask on ‘from me to you’ so the flowers weren’t as tall.

I just coloured the flowers with a couple of Clarity’s Pergacolour pens, then mounted the topper onto a piece of their ‘Waimea Falls’ companion paper and onto a 5×5 card blank.

And that’s all there is to it! The only slightly tricky bit was getting the circular stamps lined up using the masks, but once I’d figured that it was plain sailing!

  1. I like your take from the graphic…that circle of flowers. Yours is clever and akin to the one on the board. Thanks for showing how you did it too!!! So glad you joined us this week at Just Us Girls!
