seedpods KISS

Welcome to my crafty blog. I thought we ought to feature a kiss today as it’s Valentine’s Day, but it’s not the sort you might immediately think of – I’ve used the ‘seedpods’ stamps from Clarity’s KISS (Keep It Simple Stamping) range! I thought they would work well with the colours palette from this week’s challenge at The Paper Players

I started by using Clarity’s ‘mountains, hills & waterline’ masks to create the landscape. I made a frame on a square of white card with low tack tape, then blended ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide across the hills part of the mask, repositioning it for the second one (I think they look like sand dunes). I added the waterline mask and blended ‘tumbled glass’ ink across it for the water, also lightly adding it around the rest of the masking tape to create the frame.

I used the lower part of the hills mask to cover the landscape and stamped a few of the seedpods in black Versafine Clair ink. Once the ink was dry, I coloured them with SU Write markers in ‘petal pink’ and ‘so saffron’, smoothing the shading with a colour blender pen, then stamped the little crowns on top of each seedpod. I popped one of Clarity’s square embedders on the front of the card with a bit of low tack tape and ran an embossing tool around it from the reverse side for a second frame outline.

I added the sentiment from the stamp set, mounted the topper on a piece of SU ‘balmy blue’ card and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

This has actually CASE’d one of the cards we made on last year’s Clarity retreat, when the KISS range was first launched. I do love this clean and simple style.
