sending floral love

Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card stars the floral envelope from Julie Hickey’s ‘sent with love’ stamp set. I thought of it when I saw the inspo list at Festive Friday challenge – it’s not really a new year card, but I picked up red, gold & envelope from the list. I also took the centre row of floral, free & sparkle from TicTacToe‘s grid, pulling everything together with the sketch from TGIF challenges

The first step was to stamp the floral envelope in clear ink and heat emboss it with WOW’s gold metallic powder.

I coloured the image with Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol ‘Blends’ markers, using ‘poppy parade’, ‘pool party’ and ‘old olive’, then fussy cut the whole piece.

I attached a layer of pale blue card to a 5×7 blank, then added a strip of SU’s ‘sweet sorbet’ patterned paper around which I’d looped some sparkly gold twine. I then mounted the floral image on top, using scrap card to layer it (I used two separate pieces of card, leaving a gap across the middle as a channel for the gold twine to run through)

I stamped the sentiment onto an oval die cut, attached it to the side of the envelope and topped it with a bow tied in the gold twine. A few sparkly gold Glossies were the final touch.

I couldn’t get the sparkle on the twine and the Glossies to fully show up on this photo, but they’re lovely in real life!
