celtic benediction for As You See It challenge

I’m back with a second post today for our new challenge at As You See It. This time it’s a sketch designed by Jane, and right up my street for a CAS card.

I decided to create a blended and stamped panel on my card, so the first thing was to mask off a strip on the front of a 5×7 card with low tack tape. I lightly brushed ‘speckled egg’, broken china’ & ‘licky clover’ Distress Oxides onto it, then repeat stamped one of the smaller stamps from Clarity’s ‘ocean swirls’ mixed impressions set using ‘bluebird’ Archival ink.

I then repositioned the low tack tape to give me a narrow strip to the side of the stamped panel and repeat stamped one of the little ‘dandelion heads’ from Clarity’s new KISS range, again in the ‘bluebird’ Archival. I doodled deckled edges to each panel with a micron pen.

I finished by stamping the lovely ‘celtic benediction’ prayer into the white space – this is a really old Clarity stamp that I don’t think is available any more.

So how are you inspired by the As You See It challenge sketch? There are so many possibilities and some great inspiration from the rest of the design team over on the blog. Come on and play along with us – our challenge runs until Wednesday 26th January.

  1. Deborah, creating that border was really painstaking work! I’m so glad I read your blog to find out how you did it! I was just assuming it was patterned paper of some kind! And you really doodled in the deckled edges by hand? Wow! It looks amazing and very Celtic! Beautiful card! Happy New Year, and it’s great to be back!
