I’m back to the ‘adorable owls’ stamps that are available in the current Stampin’ Up! Saleabration for today’s card – I thought they would work really well to welcome my friends’ new baby. I picked up the tag theme from The Paper Players as well – it’s only small, but then so is a baby!

I started with a piece of the ‘hues of happiness’ paper, which has a lovely pink ombre effect, and glued a branch which I’d cut in grey card using the retired ‘birds and more’ dies. The paper then went onto a slimline (UK DL size) card blank.

I cut the baby’s name in white card, using Julie Hickey’s ‘sweet pea alphabet’ dies and glued them onto the card front. As you can see, I ran a piece of low tack tape where I wnted them to sit, so that I had a straight line to position them against.

I stamped two of the owls onto white card and coloured them using SU Blends alcohol markers in smoky slate, using ‘mint macaroon’ for their eyes and ‘polished pink’ for the hat. After fussy cutting them, I mounted each onto a small scrap of card and added them to the card front.

I remembered the little tag die in the ‘hydrangea’ set, so used that to cut out the sentiment. I tied a small twine bow onto it and addded it to the little flying owl’s wing (it made me think of those planes that tow advertising banners across the sky!), finishing with a few Glossies hearts.

Cute or what? I can definitely see these featuring on more new baby cards!
Absolutely adorable!

I have some lovely owl
Stamps from Hobby Art but I’m thinking birds sat on the branch would be good too.

Oh my gosh! How adorable is this! I love the slimline design and the ombre paper. These little owls are as cute as can be, and are so perfect for a “Hello Baby” card. Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

Hello, Deborah! I learned a new trick today while enjoying your very cute “Baby Owls with tiny tag” card – tacky tape for a straight line. Until now I’ve always made a faint pencil line and then struggled with erasing it between the objects or letters. Thanks for sharing your wonderful card and useful tip with us at The Paper Players!

Deborah, I just love your itty bitty tag. It fits so well with the owl making a delivery to a special little one! I also love your choice of background paper for this card. So glad you joined us at The Paper Players Challenge this week.
