Hello crafty friends. Today’s dip back into Clarity’s craft club took me to the ‘bird in hand’ die from September 2020. This is another one that I haven’t used much, but it’s such a great image it really needs sharing a bit more. I decided to go with the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments for my layout (although I realised when I’d finished that I hadn’t reflected the background part of the sketch – too late now!) I’m also going to link it up with Happy Little Stampers dies challenge.

I started with a rectangle of kraft card and cut the die into it. I blended ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxide onto a slightly larger white rectangle and glued the die cut kraft card onto it.

I recut part of the die into an offcut of ‘Barb’s favourite – Antarctica’ paper from Clarity and picked out the leaves to paper piece into the die. It’s a bit fiddly, but works well if you just take it slowly. I tend to leave the die cut in the die and lift out each piece in turn so I don’t get in a muddle with where they all go – you just have to remember that you’re working with a mirror image when the die is face down!. I used another offcut, this time with the orange shades from the paper, to get the pieces for the bird.

I wrapped some twine around the card below the die cut, tied it in a bow and added one of Clarity’s word stickers above it, before gluing the topper onto a 6×6 kraft card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. Only one week to go to Christmas and thankfully all my cards are now sorted – just the presents to finish wrapping!
