Welcome to my crafty blog and a card that I’m still in two minds about! I decided to use Clarity’s ‘Jayne’s winter scene – church’ for this card based on the sketch from TGIF challenges (which I rotated), picking up the top row from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started by creating an inky background. I’m really bad at cleaning my blending brushes but this is a good way to do it and get a background at the same time! I dipped the brush with blue ink into a little water and brushed the ink across a piece of Clarity’s stencil card, then did the same with my green brush. There’s so much ink on my brushes I’ll get quite a few backgrounds out of each of them!

I dried it thoroughly with my heat gun, then cut a piece of the blue from the top. I sprinkled WOW’s ultra high white powder onto it (for snow) and heat set it – you need to do this from below the card, otherwise the powder just blows away! Once set, I attached it to a black A6 card blank.

I stamped the winter scene onto the green part of the card and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine white powder. I added a little more snow shadow effect with a white gel pen, trimmed the sides down, then fussy cut the top across the skyline. I heat embossed a little of the white ultra high powder across the upper part of the image and then attached it to the card blank.

I added a couple of punched snowflakes to pick up the sketch design and finished with one of Clarity’s word stickers.

I have to be honest – I still can’t decide whether I like this or not! What do you think?
Deborah, the colors you used are so pretty and your take on the sketch fits nice with your winter scene. Thanks so much for joining us at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week!
