Hello crafty friends. I’m delighted to have been invited along as Guest Designer for the new challenge colours at Color Throwdown. It’s a beautiful palette of pink, ice blue and gold.

I was inspired by the Christmas trees in the photo, so reach for Stampin’ Up!’s ‘spruced up’ set. The first step was to stamp the lines onto a 5×5 card blank and heat emboss them with WOW’s metallic gold powder. I repeated this again, using my stamping platform to line the stamp up, so I had a good base for my trees. I also stamped the sentiment from the set and heat embossed that in the gold.

I stamped the two trees from the set, one in ‘spun sugar’ and the other in ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Ink, die cut them and attached to the card front, each on a little scrap of card to lift them slightly.

To finish, I cut a gold star for each tree with the little dies in the set.

Actually, I’d cut both trees out twice as I wasn’t sure which way round I’d prefer the colours. Here they both are – what do you think?

So come on over to Color Throwdown and play along with these beautiful colours – there’s some wonderful inspiration from the design team to get you started. I’m also going to link this card up at Festive Friday where I’ve picked up Christmas, gold & heat embossing from their 12 Days of Christmas list, and with Inkspirational for their ‘gold’ theme.

Lovely. Since you ask, I prefer the one with the blue tree behind š
