Hello crafty friends. Bit of a change of theme on today’s card – I’ve got a few Jewish friends so needed some Hannukah cards to send them, as it begins on 18th December. I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s ‘Eden’s Garden’ stamps, taking the colours from Color Throwdown and inspiration from the designer’s card at Global Design Project

I started with a piece of card trimmed to fit an A6 card blank. I inked the large spray from ‘Eden’s Garden’ using SU Write markers in ‘poppy parade’ and ‘evening evergreen’. The beauty of using the markers is the ability to ink specific areas of the stamp in the different colours. I added a few extra leaves using the little leaf and berry spray from the set.

I needed to add the gold from CTD’s palette, so decided to sprinkle WOW’s gold metallic ultra high embossing powder over the leaves and berries. It’s quite an easy technique – you just need to heat the powder from below the card so it doesn’t blow away and make sure you keep the piece of card level until it’s set! It’s a great effect on the leaves.

I finished by heat embossing the sentiment from the retired SU ‘snowflake wishes’ set onto a black banner. I attached it to the topper, trimmed the end level with the edge and then mounted the whole piece on a scrap piece of card before gluing it to the card front. Using the scrap card underneath just raising the topper slightly, giving it a nice definition.

I’m firmly back in my happy stamping place now, after yesterday’s die cutting!
This is amazing, great colours and stamp used, fabulous design xx
