Welcome to my crafty blog and another last minute challenge offering. Just Add Ink‘s theme is to ‘choose two’ and it probably doesn’t need explaining that I went for deer & trees! I’m also linking it up with Time Out‘s ‘winter’ challenge

I’ve used the Clarity ‘riverside landscape reflection’ masks, starting with a piece of their ‘Antarctica’ paper that I trimed to fit a 5×7 card. I laid one of the masks onto the paper and sponged black Versafine Clair ink through it to give me the ground and a few trees.

I repositioned the mask several tiems to then add more trees into the landscape, again using the sponge and black ink. I left the gap in the middle and added the two deer from the ‘extras’ masks in the set. Finally, I included one of stags from Clarity’s ‘deerscape’, masking off the rest of the herd as I only wanted one of them (I cut a small aperture in the centre of a piece of scrap paper to overlay on the stag and cover the rest of the image). I went for the ‘deerscape’ stag, as he was larger than the one in the ‘extras’ mask which gave better perspective for him standing in the foreground.

All I then needed to do was mount the paper on a layer of black card and attach the whole piece to a 5×7 card blank.

I left it without a sentiment as I’m not sure yet when I’m going to use it. I love the pattern on the paper through the gap in the trees – it made me think of a Scottish loch scene on a winter’s morning.
Lovely scene!😃♥️
