Clarity craft club lookback – countryside die

Welcome to my crafty blog and another dip back into Clarity’s craft club. Today, it’s the turn of the ‘countryside aperture die’ from April 2020, which is perfect for masculine cards. I picked up the colours from Color Throwdown, which seemed ideal.

The first step as to create my background. I’d already cut the die from a square of grey card, so lined it up on a white square and pencilled in sone guide marks so I knew where to focus each of the colours. I then blended ‘cranberry’ Adirondack and ‘barn door’ & ‘mustard seed’ Distress Oxides onto the card.

I removed most of the pencil marks with an eraser, then glued the grey die cut onto the background, before attaching the topper to a 5×5 card blank.

I didn’t want to detract from the scene so just added one of Clarity’s word stickers to finish.

I was really pleased that I managed to get the yellow focused on the tree – it certainly makes it stand out.
