Christmas gnomes

Hello crafty friends. I’m on a real roll now with Christmas cards and today it’s the turn of Clarity’s ‘gnomes and billboards’ to take centre stage. I’ve combined a few challenges into this one: I based the layout on Stesha’s card at Global Design Project, using the colours from Color Hues and obviously included the gnomes theme from Inspired by!

I started with a piece of white card and Clarity’s ‘brick wall’ stencil. I attached the stencil to the card and ran it through my embossing machine, then blended ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide onto it before removing the stencil and attaching it to an A6 card blank.

I then stamped the gnome billboard onto another piece of white card and coloured them using Pergaliner pencils. I managed to make a mess of the little girl gnome’s hat, and my rescue attempts made it even worse, as you can see…!

I was thinking that I needed to start again and then remembered the new ‘snowfall accents’ puff paint I’d just got from Stampin’ Up! I decided to use it on all their hats, to look like they’d got furry borders – I just added a little of the paint, spread it out with a cocktail stick and heated it with a heat gun. Result! All I then needed to to do was cut it out with the co-ordinating die and attach it to my card blank.

I like this wall effect as well – they look like they’re living in an ice house!
