goodwill to all

Welcome to my crafty blog and another Christmas card showcasing both sides of one of the new ‘fitting florets’ papers from Stampin’ Up! I’ve taken the sketch from Atlantic Hearts for this one.

I started with a piece of the blue floral paper, which I’d cut down to fit the lower half of a 5×7 card blank. I cut it into 2cm strips and glued them onto a ‘night of navy’ mount, reversing each strip to alternate between the two sides of the paper.

I added the mount to a 5×7 card blank and attached a piece of white card across the top half, with a strip of navy across the centre.

I stamped the sentiment from SU’s ‘hope and peace’ set in navy onto white card, cut it with a circle die and mounted it onto a larger navy circle, before attaching it to the card front with foam pads.

I finished with a couple of die cut leaves, cut from a left over bit of the patterned paper, and a few resin dots.

I really like getting the most out of my papers, and it’s great to use ones that don’t immediately scream ‘Christmas’ on first glance! This is another card that would work well with lots of different papers.

  1. This card is so very classy! I love the blue and green colors and that you chose to use the same two patterned papers on all of the vertical stripes–it makes you card so cohesive. Thank you for joining us this week at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and look forward to seeing you again soon!
