Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s time for a new challenge over at Love to Craft and as always the theme is ‘anything goes’.

I decided to go with some simple masking on a piece of Clarity’s glorious ‘Waimea Falls’ designer card. I ran a black Sharpie round the edge of the card to start with, then sponged black Archival ink across the hill from Clarity’s ‘deerscape’ mask set to pick the ground out.

I then lined up the deer mask (which helpfully has a line on it to fit the hill). I masked off the two outer deer with tape and then sponged the black ink through the three central ones.

I then moved onto the largest of Clarity’s moon masks. I used the outer part first to blend yellow and red inks to create the sun. It needed a bit more definition, so I covered the inked area with the moon mask and then sponged a little more of the black ink across the edges so the shape was more obvious (it doesn’t need much ink to do this).

The final touch was to stamp the sentiment and then attach the card to a 5×7 card blank.

What do you think? It reminded me of an early morning sunrise in the Scottish Highlands. Come on and share your crafty creations with us at Love to Craft challenge – there’s lots more inspiration from the design team and you’ve got until 20th December to join in.
Love this background! And the scene is just so peaceful!
