Welcome to my crafty blog and another card with one of the new releases from Julie Hickey Designs – this time it’s the ‘fancy foliage’ stamp. I’ve taken the layout from the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches, together with the new theme of ‘sympathy’ from Addicted to CAS

I started with a piece of white card that I’d cut to fit an A6 card blank. I lined up the stripes section from Julie’s ‘backgrounds #1’ stencil, masked it off apart from the top 3 lines and blended ‘pale papaya’ inkinto it. It didn’t reach right across the corner of the card so I repositioned it, lining up the stripes, and then repeated the blending. After removing the stencil, I blended the ink round the corner as well.

I then stamped the ‘fancy foliage’ across the corner and watercoloured it using ‘pale papaya’, ‘soft succulent’ & ‘evening evergreen’.

All I then needed to do was add the sentiment and attach it to the card blank.

You may have noticed a little change to the backgrounds on my cards over the last couple of days. I’m having a great weekend with my sister (and time for crafting), but I forgot to bring my photoboard with me so I’ve made good use of her bread board!
Such a perfect card for our sympathy challenge at ATCAS.I love the card design the foliage and the stripes work beautifully together and am loving all of the white space. Thanks for playing along once again with us.
