thankful blackbird

Hello crafty friends. After using brand new stamps in my last two posts, I’m back with some old favourites today from Clarity Crafts. I’ve picked up a couple of challenges for this card, using the sketch from Global Design Project and the ‘thankful’ theme from Time Out

I started with an A6 card blank and cut Clarity’s ‘lattice pattern’ die into the card front. I had to cut it twice as it’s a square die & didn’t reach right across the card, so I started on one side and then lined the die up again to cut the rest of the card front. I then glued a piece of Clarity’s ‘Antarctica’ card behind it.

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of white card using ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Ink and cut it with a rectangle die. I also stamped the leafy spray from Clarity’s ‘joy framer’ set twice using ‘rustic wilderness’ and then fussy cut them (it was a bit fiddly and I did wonder why I’d started part way through…!) I attached the sentiment to the card front with a foam pad and then glued the leafy sprays into place.

I still thought it needed something more, so stamped one of the blackbirds from the set using Archival ink and fussy cut it – fortunately I had a small pair of scissors! I glued him in place amongst the leaves as the final touch.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m staying with my sister for a few days and she’s also a crafter, so there’ll be lots of time to play together! Happy days!
