Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve been playing with some more of the new releases from Julie Hickey Designs – this time a couple of her new stencils. I’ve used the sketch from The Paper Players for my layout and am also sharing it with Less is More where their theme is stencils.

I started with an A6 card blank, masked a strip off across the centre with low tack tape and then blended ‘tattered rose’ Distress Oxide across it. I then laid the diamond weave pattern from Julie’s new ‘backgrounds 1’ stencil on the centre of the card, masked off the other parts of the stencil with sticky notes and sponged ‘black soot’ Distress Ink through it.

I blended more of the ‘tattered rose’ through one of the flowers on the new ‘beautiful blooms’ stencil, adding a little ‘ripe persimmon’ to the centre. I cut it out with the matching ‘beautiful blooms’ dies and glued it to the card front.

I then just stamped one of the sentiments from the new ‘sent with love’ set in Versafine Clair black – it didn’t need anything else.

Thanks for dropping in – I’ll be back with another offering tomorrow.
Beautiful! I love the partial stenciling. Thanks for joining us over at LIM.
