autumn ginko for TicTacToe challenge

Hello crafty friends. I’m delighted to be back with this card, as guest designer for the new grid over at TicTacToe challenge. I’ve gone with the middle row on this one – orange for my autumn (fall) ginko leaves, and adding pencil colouring as my free option. I took the colour scheme from the current challenge at Fusion and these leaves work perfectly for Joanne’s ‘autumn’ theme at The Paper Players

I started with the small round backdrop stamp from Clarity, using my brayer to blend Distress Oxides in ‘specked egg’ and ‘antique linen’ onto it.

I then stamped Clarity’s A6 ginko leaves over it, using black Archival ink.

Rather than used the infill stamps in the set to colour the leaves, I opted to shade them with Pergaliner pencils in two shades of orange. I did check this out – ginko leaves turn orange and yellow in the autumn before dropping from the plant, so it’s all good!

I really wanted the leaves to stay as the focal point, so just ran a black Sharpie round the edge of the card before attaching it to a 6×6 card blank, then popped a word sticker into place.

Nice and simple! Do head over to TicTacToe challenge where you can check it the inspiration from the rest of the design team – what will you choose from the grid for your card?

  1. This is lovely Deborah – the detail on that ginko leaf is a real standout and looks fab against the layered circle background. So happy to have you guesting at Tic Tac Toe this week – and thanks for playing along with my paper Players challenge theme too!
