doodle dragonflies

Hello there! I still had Claritystamp’s ‘Tina’s doodle flowers’ out on my desk, so decided to make use of the dragonflies from the set for today’s card, thanks to the inspiration photo at The Card Concept (I know it’s a butterfly, but dragonflies are close, aren’t they?) I took the layout from Freshly Made Sketches together with The Card Concept’s colours.

I used a small square die to cut a mask from one of Clarity’s resusable masking sheets, and brushed ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide through it to outline three squares onto a smooth white card. I stamped the dragonfly randomly into each of the squares, using black Versafine Clair ink.

I coloured them with Pergacolour markers, picking up the red & gold from The Card Concept’s palette.

I added a couple of leafy sprays to the left hand square to reflect the sketch, and shaded them with a dark blue Pergacolour pencil. I then used a micron pen to doodle a border around each of the squares.

I finished by attaching it to a 5×7 card blank and adding one of Clarity’s word stickers.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m not sure if I’ll be sharing a card tomorrow – we’re hoping to go to The Queen’s lying-in-state (with a very early start), but it depends what the queue looks like first thing tomorrow. It’s currently reported to be a wait of about 24 hours to get in!
