Hello there. Today’s card has taken inspiration from a photo a friend of mine shared this morning with the most beautiful sunrise. I thought the colours over at Inspire.Create would be perfect for a landscape scene using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘on the horizon’ stamps. It also works for the ‘masculine’ theme from Just Add Ink – I’ve got several friends who love getting out into the countryside for some birdwatching.

I started by blending the five ink colours onto a square of white card. I don’t ahve inks in the SU colours, so used Distress Oxides in ”mowed lawn’, ‘iced spruce’, ‘spun sugar’, ‘festive berries’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ (in the order I blended them onto the card starting at the bottom). I used the hills mask from Claritystamp with the two greens to create the ground.

I then added the three images from ‘on the horizon’ with black Versafine Clair ink.

It still looked a little flat at this point, so I sponged the ‘iced spruce’ ink across a torn piece fo copy paper to put shadow under the trees and grass, I also added a few more shadows across the landscape to give it texture, then mounted the card onto a square of black and attached both to a 6×6 card blank.

Now it’s finished I can’t decide whether this looks more like a sunrise or a sunset – what do you think?
