Claritystamp craft club lookback – birthday wreath

Hello crafty friends. It’s Sunday again, so here’s the next in my journey back through Claritystamp’s Craft Club, with the ‘birthday wreath’ from July 2021.

I need to make a couple of anniversary cards for friends, so thought this would give me a good start – there are lots of little hearts tucked into the wreath. The first step was to stamp it twice on a rectangle of card – I used ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide, then heat embossed the images with clear powder.

I coloured the leaves, berries & hearts with SU Write markers in ‘starry sky’ & ‘parakeet party’, using the fine bullet tip so I could get into the fine detail areas.

I don’t usually do this but decided to layer the card up onto two mounts, the first one in ‘parakeet party’ and a second layer in ‘starry sky’, then attached the whole piece to a 5×7 card blank.

Those mats really bring out the colours in the wreaths. I finished the card with one of Clarity’s word stickers, which I thought seemed very appropriate for an anniversary card (have you got the song going through your head now as well?!)

So I’ve combined a few challenges in this card as well. I took the sketch from Fusion for my layout and picked up the theme of ‘repetition’ from Inkspirational with the two wreaths and the sentiment. I also took the colours from the linked challenges at Color Hues and Seize the Birthday – as I was using my stamping platform for this one, I made two cards at the same time so I’ve also got another birthday card for one of my September friends!
