birthday leaves

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got a lot of September birthdays to make cards for so I took a break from the Christmas cards today to make a start. I’ve used the sketch from The Paper Players, and added in the optional twist from Can You Handle The Pressure to put the sentiment as the focus.

I started with an old leaf pattern embossing folder (I think it might be Creative Expressions) and ran a piece of white card through it. I decided to use the debossed side and attached it down the centre of a 6×6 card blank.

I die cut Julie Hickey’s ‘birthday profile’ sentiment & backing in white card, then used a blending brush to add ‘dried maarigold’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ Distress Oxides to the lettering. I glued it to the backing piece and then attached both to the card front.

I blended the inks onto a scrap of white card, then heat embossed the small flower from ‘fresh florals’ in white and die cut it. I did the same with the small leaves on card that I’d blended ‘mowed lawn’ onto, and then attached them all to the card front.

I feel like I’m getting back into my crafting groove now, which is just as well as I’ve got a stall at a village fete next Sunday! See you tomorrow with another creative offering.
