Hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new letter over at the Alphabet Challenge – we’re now on to I and Helen has chosen ‘interests’ (hobbies, etc) as the theme for the next fortnight.

My son wanted a birthday card for his father, who is a very keen cricketer, so I thought that fitted the bill perfectly. I started by cutting the ‘lattice pattern’ die from Claritystamp into the front of a 6×6 kraft card blank, then added one of their ‘frame-it’ dies to cut the border. the lattice work made me think of the practice nets used for cricket training.

I found a piece of pale blue designer paper my Clarity stash, and added clouds to it with the mask and ‘tumbled glass’ Distress ink.

I glued that to the inside of the card front, then cut the cricketer in cream card using a Tattered Lace die. I coloured his face, arms & bat using alcohol markers and then attached him to the card front (I’d remembered to put Stick It on the back of the card before I die cut it!) I’m a bit worried about his chin – I’ve added too much colour on the die cut and now he looks like Desperate Dan!!

I finished with one of Clarity’s word stickers for the sentiment, which I mounted on the blue paper & kraft card, then attached with a foam pad.

Thanks for dropping in. Come and share your interests and hobbies with us at the Alphabet Challenge – our challenge runs until Thursday 11th August. I’m off to share this card with Color Throwdown, as I used their colour palette. I’m then taking a bit of a bloggy break for a few days as I’m heading away with friends. I’ll be back next week – take care everyone.

Fantastic make,a great layout and use of diecuts,
