a card of favourites

Hello there. Today’s card picks up a couple of challenges that feature favourite things. TGIF‘s new theme is exactly that, and I’ve just got time to get this card entered into Inkspirational‘s ‘favourite monochrome’ challenge as well.

My friends won’t be surprised to see that this card features shades of teal! I’ve used 3 Distress Oxides, in ‘speckled egg’, ‘salvaged patina’ & ‘peacock feathers.

I started with one of Claritystamp’s linocut backgrounds, sponged the ‘specked egg’ & ‘salvaged patina’ onto it and stamped it onto white card.

I masked off the lower edge of the background with a strip of low tack tape and then stamped ‘Tina’s floral spray’ from Clarity onto the card using ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink. Regluar readers of this little blog will know this is one of my all-time favourite images! I used the infill stamps from the set to colour the flowers with ‘salvaged patina’ and the leaves with ‘peacock feathers’.

I trimmed the card down to a square, mounted it on a layer of grey card and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. A couple of Clarity’s word stickers added the final touch – ‘keep calm and acrry on’ is such an iconic phrase and works for various occasions.

Thanks for dropping in. Just in case you wanted a bit more evidence about my favourite tones, here’s a glimpse of my current nail colour! See you tomorrow.
