So it’s Sunday again and the next in my series travelling back through Claritystamp’s craft club. Today it’s the ‘hummingbird & blossom’ set from February 2021. I decided to go with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the lovely colours from Color Throwdown. I also incorporated Inkspirational‘s theme of ‘precious’ – more about that in a minute.

I started by repeat stamping the blossom across a strip of card, then coloured it using Pergaliner pencils in purple and light blue. I just roughly shaded the stems as I didn’t want a solid colour on them. The panel went onto an A6 card blank.

I stamped the hummingbird onto a spare bit of card and fussy cut it, before using WOW’s embossing pen to ink then heat embossing it with ‘aquamarine’ powder. I used the pen rather than an ink pad as I wanted to leave the beak free (I darkened that using a black micron pen). This is the point where Inkspirational’s theme comes in – as you know, aquamarines are semi-precious stones! WOW’s ‘aquamarine’ powder is translucent, so the stamped image still shows through.

I popped the hummingbird on the card front using foam pads and stamped the sentiment above the panel.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend. I’ve definitely enjoyed my day, with our church’s strawberry picnic in a local park, then catching up with more tennis from Wimbledon (several Brits were playing today!) in between watching Clarity’s Barbara Gray on the telly – too many choices!
Beautiful!
