pansies

Hello crafty friends. I’ve had a great afternoon at a craft class with Marion Emberson from Sugar & Spice – you’ll be seeing evidence of that class over the coming days, I’m sure, but in the meantime I went back to Stampin’ Up!’s ‘pansy’ dies for today’s card. I’ve taken the sketch from Atlantic Hearts and the current palette from Colour INKspiration as the basis for my card. I’ve also picked up the left hand column of friendship, any colour & any shape die from TicTacToe‘s grid and am going to share it as a second offering at can you handle the pressure – this time without their optional twist of wings.

I started by die cutting the pansies in ‘tahitian tide’ & ‘night of navy’ card, the centres in ‘daffodil delight’ & the leaves in ‘parakeet party’. I added a little shade to the leaves by brushing ‘parakeet party’ ink across them with a waterbrush, and then glued everything together.

I embossed a square of white card with SU’s ‘pinewood planks’ and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I grouped the pansies and leaves together and attached them to the card following Atlantic Hearts’ layout.

I stamped the sentiment from the ‘pansy patch’ stamps onto a strip of card and rounded two of the corners before sticking it in place. I added a few yellow Glossies and thought I was done, but the flowers didn’t look quite right. I realised that I’d attached the central parts too high up – fortunately, I was able to peel them off gently and glue them back into place in a better position!

Thanks for dropping in. Hope your weekend is going well – I’m sitting here in front of the TV enjoying more of the tennis at Wimbledon!

  1. What a pretty card. I love the whole card–the wood grain background, the beautiful flowers and the super sweet enamel dots. Thank you for joining us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and hope to see you again soon!
