Hello crafty friends. I’m back with more of the new dies from Julie Hickey Designs – this time it’s the turn of the ‘lovely leaves’. I thought they’d work well (with a slight twist) for the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the lovely pastel colours from Color Throwdown. It’s a bit of a last minute submission for both of them, so this will be a short post!

I started by diecutting the two smaller leaves in the set, and attached them to a 6×6 card blank to which I’d already added a layer of white card mounted on silver.

I blended Distress Oxides in ‘iced spruce’ & ‘shaded lilac’ onto a scrap of card and then recut the leaves. I pieced the waste bits into the leaves, which gives a lovely graduation on the colours (and also gives me two other leafy outlines for another card!). I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner, heat embossed it in silver and attached it across the to of the leaves.

I just added a few light blue Glossies to finish.

I always like to have a few of this type of card to hand, so they’re ready to send if I need them.
There is something so soft & peaceful about this design – just lovely! Thanks for playing along with us at FMS this week.
