floral congratulations

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card is a bit more full on than my usual style, thanks to the challenge at TGIF, where the team have given us the cover photo from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue as our starting point. I decided to CASE (copy and selectively edit) it, using the ‘Artistically Inked’ set. I’ve also included the themes from a couple of new-to-me challenges: Can You Handle the Pressure is all about embossing folders with an added twist of flowers, and Sparkles‘ theme is ‘floral frenzy’.

I started by covering a 5×7 card blank with a piece of the ‘expressions in ink’ designer paper. I cut a smaller piece of crafting parchment, ran it through the ‘tasteful textiles’ embossing folder and attached it to the card front. I just popped a dab ofTombow glue in each corner to stick it – it looks a bit obvious on this photo as it’s still wet, but disappears when it’s dry.

I then set about a load of stamping and die cutting. I stamped the flowers in ‘driend marigold’ Distress Oxide, giving them centres with SU ‘soft succulent’. I also used the ‘soft succulent’ for the stamped leaves, and then die cut the large leafy spray in ‘evening evergreen’. I attached the flowers using foam pads, then cut the leafy spray in two and glued it to either side, finishing with the stamped leaves, also on small foam pads.

I finished by stamping a sentiment from ‘art gallery’ onto a diecut banner, popping that across the leaves and then adding a few brushed gold metallic dots.

Thanks for dropping in. It’s been grey and miserable here today, but the sun’s come out now so everything feels better,

  1. This is just beautiful, I love that parchment panel. I always use vellum, but I will try the parchment, thanks for the inspiration. Lots of wonderful work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us over at Can You Handle The Pressure, hope to see you back again soon.
