Hello crafty friends. I haven’t used the ‘you’re a star’ dies designed by Hazel Eaton for Julie Hickey Designs for a ittle while, so time to share them again. I immediately thought of them when I saw the new sketch over at The Paper Players, and they give me a second offering for Inspire.Create‘s ‘masculine’ theme.

I trimmed a piece of the ‘all weathered’ paper (that Hazel also designed) to fit a 5×7 card blank, and sponged ‘watering can’ Archival ink through the ‘happy birthday’ stencil across the top twi thirds. I then attached the paper to a black card blank.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black card and added that. I then cut several of the star dies, including one in the designer paper, and glued them onto the card front.

I finished by adding the little stars that had popped out of the centre of the die cuts (I can’t bear to waste anything!)

Nice and easy – exactly the sort of card I like!
Great masculine card Deborah – I love the effect of the stencilling on the dsp and the black outline of the stars gives a great clean and graphic feel. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
