Hello there! Well it’s Sunday again so here’s my weekly dip back into Claritystamp’s monthy craft club. I’ve been working through the 2020 stamps in order over recent weeks, and today should have used the July stamp. I don’t know why, but I’d convinced myself this ‘gothic key’ (from September) was the next in the series so here it is – not that it matters that this one is not in order!

I started by stampin the key onto a square of white card with Archival black ink. I used the outer part of a circle mask to create the sun by blending a little ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxide through it. The sentiment is from ‘Barbara’s Christmas Sentiments’ by Clarity – the full phrase is ‘health, wealth & happiness’, so I masked it off when inking to just have the end word.

I then stamped one of Clarity’s ‘wee houses’ onto a spare piece of card, coloured it wtht Pergaliner pencils and fussy cut it.

I attached the main piece of card to a 6×6 card blank, then added the house with a couple of foam pads.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m off to share this one with a couple of challenges. The house picks up the new theme from The Paper Players with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches – it’s a slightly loose interpretation of their design, but I’m hoping the team won’t object!

Deborah, this is a really clever use of a house key as a horizontal element and a perfect card! I’ve been concentrating on new home cards recently in response to my son’s request for handmade cards for the agents on his real estate team as they sell homes. I promise I won’t copy your design, but I am in awe! xoxo, Fran
